OUR LOCATION in the Silver City Area

Casitas de Gila Guesthouses are located in Southwestern New Mexico, USA, just 30 miles northwest of Silver City and 30 miles southeast of Glenwood, off U.S. Route 180. Our location is off the beaten path, yet not remote. It is incredibly quiet here, and there are no lights to spoil the night sky.

We're 4 miles from the small community of Gila, in Grant County, just off of Hooker Loop, which is a gravel road (also known as a dirt road). Hooker Loop is a county maintained road and is generally in excellent shape all year.

Occasionally a guest arrives thinking we are in the "middle of nowhere". But they very quickly realize that Casitas de Gila Guesthouses is the "center of everything"!

We recommend you reserve in advance if you wish to stay at Casitas de Gila, particularly in late winter, spring, fall, and on holidays and holiday weekends, when we are busiest. But if you find yourself in our area without a place to stay, don't hesitate to call and see if we have a Casita available before you make the drive out to us.

Great Lakes Airlines operates two flights daily on Monday thru Friday and one flight daily on weekends between Albuquerque and Grant County Airport (about 20 minutes from Silver City and an hour from Casitas de Gila).

There is car rental available through the following Silver City businesses:

Approximate driving times: Albuquerque or Phoenix – 5 hours; Tucson – about 4 hours; El Paso Airport – 3-1/2 hours; Las Cruces, 2-1/2 hours – Silver City, 45 minutes.

We send driving directions with all booking confirmations. You probably won't find us if you rely on MapQuest or Google Maps!
